Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome Back to the 2024-25 School Year,

As we embark on another exciting academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our students and families, both new and returning. The start of a new school year is always filled with a mix of emotions—excitement, curiosity, and perhaps a little bit of nervousness. This year, we are more prepared than ever to make it a successful and rewarding journey for everyone.

One of the key themes  Superintendent Niedzwiecki has chosen to focus on for the 2024-25 school year  is resilience. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, to  moving forward even when things get tough. In the classroom, at home, and in life, resilience is what helps us grow stronger and more capable with each experience.

In today’s ever-changing world, the ability to adapt, persevere, and learn from setbacks is more important than ever. Whether it’s tackling a difficult assignment, navigating new friendships, or adjusting to new routines, resilience will be the foundation that helps our students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

At Franklin School of Opportunity, we are committed to creating an environment that encourages resilience in every student. This includes:

Supportive Learning Atmosphere: Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where students feel confident to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them.

• Growth Mindset: We encourage a growth mindset, where students understand that effort and perseverance are key to success. Challenges are viewed as opportunities to learn and improve, rather than as setbacks.

• Social and Emotional Learning: We incorporate social and emotional learning (SEL) into our curriculum, helping students develop the self-awareness, self-management, and interpersonal skills needed to handle stress, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

As we move through the 2024-25 school year, we will encounter both challenges and triumphs. But with resilience, we know that our students can navigate any situation with confidence and grace. Together, we will support each other in creating a positive, thriving school community where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

We are thrilled to have you as part of our school family, and we look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and resilience.

Welcome Back!
